Canada eTA Online

The Canada eTA is an online travel authorisation for eligible visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air. It is also used for eligible travellers who are simply transiting through a Canadian airport. Applying is straightforward and requires a valid passport, an email address and a payment card. The current government fee is CAN$7, and most applications are approved within minutes. Once approved, the eTA is electronically linked to the passport used in the application, so there is normally no separate document to print for boarding. Before travelling, it is important to make sure the passport number on the approval email matches the passport exactly. An eTA does not guarantee entry into Canada, as the final decision is made by a border services officer when you arrive.
